go electric!

The time has already come to think about our environment, our society and in a broader sense, about the planet. We can do something which doesn’t cost much, which don’t hamper our lifestyle. Its not easy to find a place in near future outside the planet to stay. So we have to take care of our beautiful planet and think for its sustainability. Now the main threat is due to global warming and carbon dioxide gas is a primary contributor to this. This killer gas is emitted mainly from industries and automobiles. According to a report of international energy agency (IEA), in 2007 two sectors, electricity heat generation and transport, produced nearly two third of the global co2 emission.  For transport it is only 23%.The Primary energy supply in the world is from fossil i.e 82% of energy from fossil fuel in 2007. Fossil energy mainly comes from petroleum, coal etc. In top 10 emitting countries, china is in top, then U.S.A. In 2007, BRICS countries represented 30% of global energy usage and 33% of global co2 emission whereas India emits around 5% of the global co2 emission and from that transport accounts for 9% of the co2 emission compared to other sectors.
So what is in our hand? We are ready to spend a lot of money on a luxurious car whereas we hesitate to spend it on an electric car because it is not that sophisticated, not looking beautiful or not that much of powerful. Many benefits can be achieved by going electric.
The benefits of using an electric vehicle are like
·         it will  not emit carbon dioxide to environment
·         maintenance is low
·         save money on fuel
·         Preserve fossil fuels for our offspring etc.
Most of us have a wrong notion that an electric vehicle gives less mileage, power and other problems like battery charge. But most of the electric car manufacturers are using lithium ion battery which lasts long and take less time to charge. A 90 minute charge can give back up for around 8 hours and mileage can be 80 to 100 kmh. Now more companies are focusing on electric cars and more upcoming models are going to hit the road in near future. I am sure the next tough competitive market in vehicle segment is the electric market. Toyota, Chevrolet, general motor already came up with their new electric models and in India, GM plans to launch its electric cars in collaboration with REVA. REVA‘s two upcoming models are NXR and NXG which are not inferior in any sense with other brands. Some of the electric vehicle manufacturers in the world are Fly Bo,Modec, Myers Motors, Reva,Twike,Venturi,Zap!electric cars,Zenn Motors,Tesla motors, Think, Porteon, universal electric vehicles,Obvio,Aptera, Ajanta etc.
So we can decrease the percentage of carbon dioxide and other harmful gas emission if we take take decision carefully. When we choose a vehicle for ourselves, we can have a option to go for electric. Join hand to hand and come forward to save the world.
